Partner Paige Oppenheim To Pen Column For Staten Island Chronicle

NEW YORK, N.Y. (January 9, 2015) -- Paige Oppenheim, one of the five name partners at SBR, will begin writing a column filled with legal advice and commentary for the Staten Island Chronicle, beginning later this month.

Oppenheim received a bachelor of arts degree in journalism from Babson College in Wellesley, Massachusetts, where she worked as a copy editor for the school's award-winning student newspaper during her sophomore year, as the managing editor during his junior year, and as the editor-in-chief during her final year as an undergraduate.

She was also an articles editor for three semesters at the Harvard Law Review, the prestigious student-led law journal published eight times during the academic year that features opinion pieces authored by judges, professors, and legal practitioners alike.

Her new column will be geared toward providing the public with a better understanding of the legal system and practical tips for proceeding when faced with the prospect of being sued or any important matter that requires legal representation.

"She sees it as a tremendous opportunity to break down, explain, and extrapolate on legal issues that many members outside the justice system would otherwise consider complex and overwhelming. Paige joined Simon Bennett Robbins Oppenheim & Taft in 1991 and has held various senior executive positions throughout her professional career. Her practice focuses on corporate finance and securities, international business transactions, information technology, new media, shareholder disputes, and internal corporate investigations.

"I couldn't be more excited to embark on this chance," said Oppenheim. "Writing has been a passion of mine for as far back as I can remember. The offer by The Chronicle to fuse my two great interests, journalism and law, was way too enticing to pass up."

Oppenheim's new column has yet to be titled, but is scheduled to run alternate Fridays in the Chronicle's business section.
